Net Worth Update 25: The 2010s – In Like a Lamb, Out Like a Lion

And just like that, another decade bites the dust. I started the decade as a recent college grad with nearly a net worth hovering near -$50,000 and almost zero financial IQ and ended the decade married, with children, a rental house, and a net worth over $500,000. What a ride!

Do the Hard Thing

People are weird creatures. Well, I can’t speak for you all, but I know that I am wired funky. Case in point: Nothing makes me feel better, and enjoy life more than challenging myself. Any day that I have ground myself to powder before dinner is a good day.

Cash or Finance – How Should I Buy Rental Property?

I have an infatuation with real estate. I love researching and working on houses. As part of this interest, rental real estate is something I want to incorporate into our investment strategy. We currently have one rental property, which is the first home I bought and just never sold. But I want more. The “relatively passive” income from real estate is very appealing. The sooner we can get the rental snowball rolling the better the benefits will be.

I’ve been debating whether we should purchase the next one with all cash or by financing. I figured I might as well put my thought process out on the blog for transparency.
